Who We Are

A Question of Care (QoC) is an ongoing Peterborough Drug Strategy capacity-building initiative. Through QoC, we empower community members and helping professionals (who primarily work or live in Peterborough City and County) with in-depth knowledge of substance use, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care, alongside practical skills gained through our various workshops. QoC creates spaces for mutual learning, respectful dialogue, and fostering collaboration between community members, as well as multi-sectoral collaboration and interdisciplinary practice between professionals. Our goal is to reduce discriminatory attitudes, behaviours and stigma for individuals who use drugs.

What We Offer

The primary objective of our training is to provide opportunities for skills and knowledge development, collaboration, and awareness regarding issues related to substance use, either in-person or online, in the following models:

  • Core Public Workshops

  • Premium Partner Workshops

  • In-House Workshops

Have You Created A Workshop?

Our 'Event Coordinating Service' assists local organizations and individuals with coordinating their workshops (aligning with QoC’s purpose, principles, and framework) or other sessions for a fee.

Our Target Audience

Helping Professionals

We define a ‘helping professional’ as anyone providing direct, therapeutic services (ex. social workers, therapists, service providers, health care providers, & harm reduction staff) or anyone in a position of interacting with people in providing a service that isn’t necessarily therapeutic (ex. administrators, volunteers, shelter workers, public health staff, and emergency services).

Community Members

We define ‘community members’ as anyone 18 and over who live in the Peterborough community. They may have friends, family, colleagues, or acquaintances who use substances. In our advertising, they may be referred to as “loved ones” or “supporters” of people who use substances.
